Enrique Iglesias is a world-renowned singer, songwriter, and producer hailing from Madrid, Spain. Born on May 8, 1975, he is the third and youngest child of two iconic figures in the entertainment industry, Spanish singer Julio Iglesias and Filipina socialite and magazine journalist Isabel Preysler. Iglesias also found out later in life that he was born with an extremely rare congenital condition known as situs inversus, which causes the organs in the body to be situated on the opposite side from where they should normally be. In December 1981, Iglesias' grandfather was kidnapped by the Basque group ETA, prompting Enrique and his brother Julio to move to Miami, Florida with their father and his then-girlfriend. Iglesias spent the majority of his childhood in Miami, where he was raised primarily by their nanny Elvira Olivares and attended St. Brendan High School, a private Catholic school.
