Luca Hänni is a Swiss pop singer and television personality who gained fame in 2012 after winning the ninth season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar. His debut single "Don't Think About Me" topped the singles charts in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland and his debut album became a gold-seller in both countries. He has released four albums and won two talent shows in 2014 and 2017. In 2019, he represented Switzerland in the Eurovision Song Contest, placing fourth.

Luca Hanni was born in Bern, Switzerland and from a young age he developed a love of music; during kindergarten he received drumming lessons and at the age of nine he taught himself to play the guitar and piano. After finishing school, he decided to pursue a career in music and stopped his training as a bricklayer in 2012, two years in. Since 2020 he has been in a relationship with his Let's Dance dancing partner, Christina Luft.

In 2012, Luca Hanni applied in the ninth season of the RTL singing talent show Deutschland Sucht Den Superstar, the German adaption of the Idol franchise. On 28 April 2012, he reached the final and competed against Daniele Negroni, eventually winning the show with 52.85 percent of the audience votes. As a reward, Hänni received 500,000 Euros and a recording contract with Universal Music Group as well as a car and driver education courses. His debut single and coronation song "Don't Think About Me" was an instant success, reaching gold status in Switzerland within four days of its release and becoming the first Swiss citizen to reach number one on the German Singles Charts in more than half a century. Hänni's debut album My Name Is Luca was released on 18 May 2012, comprising a set of previously unreleased recordings and cover versions of popular songs, which also achieved gold status by August 2012.

In 2013, Hänni received several awards including the Swiss Music Award for Best Breaking Act National, two nominations for the Prix Walo and an ECHO Award nomination for Newcomer International. Hänni worked with Christopher S on his third album Dance Until We Die, which debuted at number six in the Swiss Albums Charts and produced the singles "I Can't Get No Sleep" and "Good Time". He joined a variety of Swiss musicians to release "Ensemble" in support of needy people in Switzerland, which became a platinum-certified chart topper. Hänni wrote and released the song "Only One You" in 2014 in close cooperation with the DKMS charity, and later that year he participated in SRF's Kampf der Orchester and won the title. In 2015, Hänni released his fourth album When We Wake Up, delving into R&B and electronic music instead of the predominant pop and dance pop sound. Later that year, he opened for Helene Fischer in December and represented Switzerland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. In 2019, he represented Switzerland again at the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel-Aviv. His song "She Got Me" was a success, culminating in a fourth-place finish and the song becoming his second number-one hit in Switzerland.
