Sarita Choudhury is a British actress who has a long list of acting credits, including prominent roles in films such as Mississippi Masala (1991), Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love (1996), A Perfect Murder (1998), 3 AM (2001), and Gloria (1999). She starred in Just a Kiss (2002), She Hate Me (2004), Lady in the Water (2006), The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 (2015), A Hologram for the King (2016), and the HBO Max series Sex and the City revival television series And Just Like That.... Sarita Choudhury was born in Blackheath, London, England to parents Prabhas Chandra Choudhury, an Indian scientist, and Julia Patricia (née Spring), an English woman. Her parents married in 1964 in Lucea, Jamaica and have three children - Sarita, Kumar Michael, and Chandra Paul Choudhury. After studying economics and film at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, Sarita embarked upon her professional acting career.

Sarita Choudhury starred opposite Denzel Washington in the 1991 film Mississippi Masala, for which she received her Screen Actors Guild (SAG) card. She has since worked in Hollywood, with roles in independent films, television series, and major motion pictures, such as The Hunger Games. After her debut film Mississippi Masala became an art house hit, Choudhury acted as a Pakistani country-western singer in Wild West, a Chilean maid in The House of the Spirits, and a lesbian mother in Fresh Kill. In 1998-99, she played the role of medical examiner on the hit show Homicide: Life on the Street. She also starred as the King's mistress in NBC's drama Kings.

In 2010, Choudhury worked with director Sona Jain in For Real and has since continued to work in television and film, such as her roles as Saul Berenson's wife Mira in Homeland, a cameo in Admission, and Deputy White House Political Director Sophia Varma in Blindspot. In 2016 she had a role in A Hologram for the King, with Tom Hanks, and in 2021 she starred in The Green Knight opposite Dev Patel. India has also been part of her journey, as she has taken up offers and roles in both Bollywood films and independent productions.
